I picked up a couple of bridal magazines recently and was very disappointed by the range of sleeves (or rather the lack of them) on the gowns on display. Basically all the bridal houses featured strapless gowns in all possible permutations as the highlight of their collection. This doesn’t sit well with someone like me: I don’t have toned, model-sized arms, I do not wear strapless in general because apart from how annoying they are (must keep tugging and ensuring that everything is in place) I prefer something a little covered up.
Here’s a couple of non-strapless creations from bridal designer Peter Langner.
First up, drapey shoulder thingies. For those of you who have toned arms, these things may not make sense, but oh it does for me! They kind of conceal the fact that you have hanging flabulations because you have to limit your arm-swinging actions.
Baby got back. Nice, soft ruffling around the shoulders and train.
Love vintagey lacey stuff. Not too sure about the extra tier at the bottom though.
Actually I kinda like this little twist to the strapless gown.
